  • The Baldat Coastal Resilience Initiative, led by Culion Foundation Inc. and funded by Forest Foundation Philippines through Philippines-Canada Partnership on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Adaptation (PCP4NbS), seeks to establish and operationalize the Baldat Marine Protected Area in climate-vulnerable Barangay Baldat, Culion, Palawan. Centering women’s environmental leadership, the project applies gender-responsive nature-based solutions through mangrove, seagrass, and coral ecosystem restoration, while strengthening women-led groups, community enforcement, and biodiversity-friendly livelihoods such as sea grapes cultivation. The initiative enhances climate resilience, supports ecosystem recovery, and promotes equitable community benefits.
