Barangay Bucana Sasahan in Naic, Cavite is a coastal community shaped by the meeting of river and sea, where many residents rely on fishing, aquaculture, and small-scale farming. Despite the challenges of coastal living, the community remains resilient and deeply connected to its environment.
CFI conducted TB Active Case Finding (ACF) in Brgy. Bucana Sasahan to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) detection and improve access to essential health services. A total of 126 individuals were screened. The initiative also provided additional support, as Naic RHU-Main provided free HIV testing, creating a more inclusive and accessible health service for the community.
This initiative reflects the power of collaboration in bringing healthcare closer to those who need it most. It was made possible through the continued support of the Department of Health – Center for Health Development CALABARZON (CHD-4A), the Provincial Health Office (PHO) Cavite, the Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), the Local Government Unit of Naic, Naic RHU-Main, and the PBSP ACCESS TB Project, alongside dedicated health workers, partners, and the community—collectively paving the way toward a healthier and TB-free future.
