Access to timely healthcare remains a challenge for residents of Ticao Island, Masbate, comprising the municipalities of Batuan, San Fernando, San Jacinto, and Monreal, due to its geographic isolation. Many residents still travel to Sorsogon, Albay, or Masbate Proper to access basic diagnostic services, highlighting the urgent need for community-based interventions.

To address this, CFI conducted a four-day TB Active Case Finding (ACF) initiative reaching 1,011 individuals across the island. Implemented in close coordination with the Rural Health Units (RHUs), the initiative brought TB screening and diagnostic services directly to communities, reducing travel barriers and enabling early detection.

This effort underscores a shared commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind in the fight against tuberculosis. The activity was made possible through the collaboration of the Bicol Center for Health Development, Local Government Units, RHUs, Barangay Health Workers, and PBSP ACCESS TB Project, working together to expand equitable access to TB services in geographically isolated areas.
