Culion Foundation. Inc. (CFI) turned over four bottles – equivalent to 200 doses of Vitamin A 100,000 IU to the Culion Municipal Health And Nutrition Office for the immunization of 200 children ages 6 to 11 months against measles and rubella.
Through the support of Vitamin Angels – Philippines , CFI also assisted in the deworming and provided Vitamin A supplements to 0-59 months old children and multi-vitamins to pregnant women.
This initiative is part of CFI’s vitamin supplementation program that adheres to the directive of the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on the provision of Vitamin A supplements for children 6-59 months old in areas where Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) is a severe public health problem.
The activity was held on May 4, 2023 during the launch of the DOH Chikiting Ligtas 2023, a nationwide free supplemental immunization campaign to vaccinate children against measles, rubella, and polio.
