CFI Strengthens Community Action for a TB-Free Nation
Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) actively participated in the month-long celebration of the World TB Day (WTBD) in the National Capital Region. Championing the initiative “Detect Early, Treat Early: Para Tayo ay TB” under the theme “Youth Can End TB for a TB-Free Nation”, the celebration highlighted the collective commitment of local government units (LGUs), social development partners, and the youth in the fight against tuberculosis.
The commemoration began with a kick-off event at the Caloocan Sports Complex and highlighted by a grand parade, symbolizing the unity and commitment of LGUs and social development partners in combating TB. The lively march served as a powerful visual statement of solidarity, with participants promoting awareness and advocacy for early detection and treatment.
On the second day, CFI took part in the Kapehan Session, where brilliant minds from various institutions gathered to discuss the latest developments on TB and its current state in the Philippines. The session fostered collaboration and knowledge-sharing, aiming to enhance strategies for TB prevention, care, and treatment.
The celebration concluded with a Zumba activity in Mandaluyong, promoting health and wellness as key factors in TB prevention. The event encouraged physical activity and community engagement in the ongoing fight against TB. Simultaneously, LGUs from Pasig, Pateros, and Malabon organized their own activities, further amplifying the message of solidarity and action.
Through its participation, CFI continues to drive awareness, promote early detection, and strengthen partnerships, empowering communitiesโespecially the youthโto take a stand and help create a TB-free Nation.
