In show of support to former CFI Trustee and now Secretary of Health, Dr. Teodoro “Ted” Herbosa, the CFI – ACF CALABARZON team participated in the PuroKalusugan initiative spearheaded by the Center for Health Development (CHD) IV-A and Cavite LGU.
The PuroKalusugan program, part of the Department of Health’s Eight-Point Action Agenda, aims to reduce health disparities by focusing on key areas such as vaccination, maternal health, nutrition, water sanitation, TB and HIV screening, road safety, non-communicable disease prevention, and cancer treatment. This initiative provides free medical services including maternal and child healthcare, immunization, TB and HIV control, chronic disease prevention, and dental and vision care. By decentralizing healthcare, PuroKalusugan ensures that even those in remote areas can access essential medical services, particularly primary care, without the need to travel long distances.
On its end, CFI sponsored free chest X-rays to facilitate early detection and prevention of TB in high-risk groups, along with an art contest to promote health advocacy and youth involvement. The latter is part of CFI’s commemoration of World TB Day in Cavite.
