CFI Joins TB Talks Organized by MMCHD
CFI reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating tuberculosis (TB) in the Philippines by participating in the recently held “TB Talk: Inside Metro Manila’s Fight for a TB-Free Generation” organized by the Metro Manila Center for Health Development (MMCHD). Representing CFI, Executive Director Eugenio M. Caccam shared the Foundation’s key initiatives in combating TB, particularly in Active Case Finding (ACF) and TB Preventive Treatment uptake. He emphasized CFI’s efforts in reducing the spread of the disease, highlighting the enrollment of over 2,000 individuals with latent TB infection in TB preventive treatment programs of the Foundation.
“It is very important to keep improving the quality of life. At Culion Foundation, we strive for a progressive and healthy community, and a crucial part of that is controlling and eliminating TB,” Mr. Caccam said. He further stressed the critical need for proper monitoring and treatment adherence as well as the importance of capacitating and mobilizing community-based organizations to enhance TB service delivery.
