Culion Foundation Inc. (CFI) is working to strengthen coastal and marine management in Coron, Palawan. Through the “Integrated Coastal and Marine Management Towards Ecosystem and Community Resilience” project, CFI has trained local fishery councils and enforcement groups, set up six mangrove nurseries, and helped update local fishery policies. The project also raised awareness about fishery regulations and conservation during registration caravans for fishermen and boat owners.
This initiative is supported by the UNDP’s Small Grants Programme (SGP-7) through the Foundation for the Philippine Environment, in partnership with local and national agencies, and aims to build community resilience while protecting marine ecosystems.
