On May 29, 2025, Culion Foundation Inc. (CFI) participated in the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 hosted by DOH-Tondo Medical Center by setting up an engaging I𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵. We are deeply honored to be included in this meaningful educational initiative and grateful for the opportunity to share our mission.
Our booth was designed to highlight three main pillars:
𝗟𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘆-𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮 – We distributed flyers, IEC materials, and advocacy stickers to raise awareness of the biological and social impact of Hansen’s Disease (HD). A “Promise Wall” invited attendees to pledge their support in ending HD-related stigma. A Leprosy 101 video was also featured to educate and inspire empathy.
𝗟𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘆-𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 – Through the theme “𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘐𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯,” we explored the powerful legacy of Culion as a former leprosy colony. A diorama and historical presentation helped attendees visualize the island’s transformation and the importance of continuing leprosy prevention efforts.
𝗖𝗙𝗜’𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 – With nearly 50 years of service, CFI has been a key player in HD control and public health. Our booth featured a curated timeline of our history, our ongoing projects in skin health and beyond, and materials for potential partners. QR codes linking to our initiatives and donation channels were also made available.
To boost engagement, the booth also featured interactive mini games with prizes, helping spread awareness in a fun and memorable way. Materials and setup were prepared in collaboration with DOH-TMC.
Thank you again to DOH-Tondo Medical Center for recognizing our work and supporting our advocacy!
