Culion Foundation Inc. (CFI) celebrated a major public health milestone on June 24, 2025, as it honored its 555,555th participant under the Tuberculosis Active Case Finding (TB-ACF) initiative. The event, titled “𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙛 𝙖 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙”, was held at Manresa Multipurpose Hall in Barangay Manresa, Quezon City. Attended by health professionals, local officials, and partner organizations such as the Department of Health – Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the event recognized the vital collaboration between sectors in advancing community-level TB detection and care.
The program also highlighted the role of partner organizations in the TB ACF space and emphasized the impact of cross-sectoral collaboration. DOH-MMCHD’s Angeline Perfecto reiterated government support and highlighted the private sector’s role in expanding access to care. A symbolic highlight of the program was the awarding of a certificate and token to the 555,555th ACF participant, an act that represented not only one individual but the collective progress of the program in reaching vulnerable populations. A short video also showcased CFI’s milestones, success stories, and the dedication of its field teams.
CFI Executive Director Eugenio M. Caccam Jr. closed the program by thanking all stakeholders for their continued support and dedication. He emphasized that the milestone belongs to every health worker, patient, and partner who has contributed to the mission of ending TB. The event concluded with a reception for networking and reflection, celebrating not just the number reached, but the lives impacted and the commitment to sustain the momentum in the fight against tuberculosis.
CFI is grateful for the support of the Global Fund through the Philippine Business for Social Progress in making this significant milestone a reality.
