As part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen TB case detection, CFI ACF Team 4A conducted two days of community-based screening activities in Batangas City. On July 15, the team was deployed to Barangay Libjo, followed by a second activity on July 16 in Barangay Conde Itaas.
A combined total of 312 individuals underwent screening for tuberculosis, comprising 157 participants from Libjo and 155 participants from Conde Itaas. The activities aimed to identify presumptive TB cases, provide immediate referrals, and reinforce health education on TB prevention and treatment.
This initiative was carried out through the coordinated efforts of the Center for Health Development CALABARZON (CHD 4A), Batangas Provincial Health Office (PHO), Batangas Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), Batangas City Health Office (CHO), respective Barangay LGUs, and Health Centers of Brgy. Libjo and Conde Itaas, and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).
The strong inter-agency collaboration ensured the smooth implementation of activities, including the mobilization of local health personnel, the provision of logistics support, and effective community mobilization.
The success of this activity highlights the value of multi-sectoral partnerships in scaling up TB case finding and advancing the goal of a TB-free Batangas.
