Barangay Bacao I and Barangay Manggahan in General Trias City, Cavite continue to grow into dynamic urban communities. As development accelerates, ensuring community health remains a vital priority.
Culion Foundation, Inc. conducted Active Case Finding (ACF) activities to bring tuberculosis (TB) services closer to residents. In Barangay Bacao I, 151 individuals were screened through community-based efforts. In Barangay Manggahan, a conveniently located chest X-ray screening reached 164 individuals, ensuring wider access to essential TB services and care.
As a highlight, the initiative went beyond TB screeningโparticipants in Bacao I received free snacks, bottled water, and soap through Children International (The WASH Foundation), while free HIV testing and Tuberculin Skin Tests (TST) were also provided in Manggahan to promote early detection and overall health awareness.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Department of Health โ Center for Health Development CALABARZON (CHD-4A), Provincial Health Office (PHO) Cavite, Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), Local Government Unit of General Trias, General Trias City Health Office, PBSP ACCESS TB Project, and community members for making these efforts possible. Together, we move closer to a TB-free community.
