The Culion Foundation Inc., through its HR and Admin Unit, successfully conducted a brown-bag session on child protection. Held yesterday, February 12, 2026, the session aims to raise awareness, strengthen our commitment to safeguarding, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment for every child.
We were honored to have Asst. Professor Hazel S. Cometa-Lamberte, PhD, as our guest speaker. She provided valuable insights on the fundamental rights of children, the history of child protection in both international and local contexts, and the vital role of social workers in upholding child welfare. She also shared important reminders for staff in dealing with situations where children are present during official activities.
𝘈 𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: abuse can happen anywhere, and ignorance of a case does not excuse us from responsibility under the law.
Together, let us remain vigilant, informed, and proactive in protecting every child.
