Mauban is widely known as the home of the Quezon Power Plant, one of the largest coal fired power facilities in Luzon, helping energize communities across the region. Beyond its role in powering homes and industries, the municipality is also becoming a vital space for initiatives that uplift community health.
CFI TB ACF SHIELD brought its Active Case Finding activity to Mauban, making tuberculosis screening more accessible to residents. A total of 164 individuals were screened, with 16 identified as presumptive TB patients who were then guided for further evaluation and care.
This effort was made possible through the strong collaboration of the Department of Health Center for Health Development CALABARZON, Quezon Provincial Health Office, Quezon Provincial DOH Office, Mauban Rural Health Unit, Mauban Local Government Unit, and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.
By bringing services closer to the people, this initiative highlights the importance of early detection, timely support, and community partnership. Just as Mauban helps power the region, efforts like these help empower healthier, stronger, and TB free communities.
