Making TB Services More Accessible in General Nakar

Making TB Services More Accessible in General Nakar

Access to healthcare remains a challenge for many communities in General Nakar, where geographical barriers often delay tuberculosis (TB) screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Through the CFI TB ACF SHIELD initiative, Active Case Finding (ACF) was conducted in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, ensuring that essential TB services reached those who need them most.

From June 24–25, 2026, the initiative successfully screened 308 individuals and identified 45 presumptive TB patients, demonstrating the value of proactive TB case finding in detecting cases early and facilitating timely linkage to appropriate care.

These efforts reaffirm our shared commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against tuberculosis. By bringing services closer to communities, we move one step closer to ending TB.

This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Health – Center for Health Development, Quezon Provincial Health Office, Quezon Provincial Department of Health Office, General Nakar Rural Health Unit, and the Local Government Unit of General Nakar and PBSP ACCESS TB Project.
