As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, Culion Foundation, Inc. successfully held the 3rd General Assembly and Training Workshop of CFI-supported Peoples Organizations (POs) on June 3–4, 2026, at the Loyola College of Culion (LCC) Auditorium.
The two-day gathering brought together officers of 12 Peoples Organizations from Coron and Culion, serving as a dynamic platform to strengthen leadership skills, enhance organizational management, and deepen community development competencies. Participants actively engaged in a series of capacity-building sessions on proposal writing, fundraising, project management, event planning, record keeping, leadership, and organizational self-assessment. Discussions also highlighted the vital role of community-based organizations in nation-building, complemented by interactive workshops, leadership exercises, and meaningful exchanges of experiences among partner organizations.
Beyond organizational strengthening, the assembly also integrated essential health and development learning sessions on tuberculosis, leprosy, disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM), and cleft lip and palate. These discussions equipped participants with practical knowledge that they can cascade and apply within their respective communities, reinforcing their role as frontline advocates of health and development awareness.
The activity reaffirmed CFI’s unwavering commitment to empowering grassroots organizations and nurturing strong community leadership as key drivers of inclusive and sustainable development. Through sustained capacity-building initiatives, POs continue to serve as vital partners in advancing meaningful participation, local ownership, and collective action toward lasting social change.
