The Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) marked its 50th Anniversary with partners, trustees, and supporters during a commemorative gathering on June 30, 2026, at Plaza Ibarra in Quezon City. More than celebrating five decades of service, the occasion honored the partnerships, leadership, and shared commitment that have shaped the Foundation’s journey since 1976.

The program featured opening remarks from CFI Chairperson Alberto A. Lim and an anniversary message from President Maria Aurora F. Tolentino, followed by messages from H.E. Karel Hejč, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Philippines; Dr. Bayo S. Fatunmbi, Technical Officer of the World Health Organization; and Doña Josephina Bantug, President of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Their presence reflected the power of collaboration in advancing healthier, more resilient, and more empowered communities.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of Partnership Plaques to organizations that have made significant contributions to CFI’s mission over the years. The Foundation also recognized its past and present Board of Trustees for their leadership and stewardship and conferred Staff Service Awards on Mr. William G. Asuncion Jr., Executive Director Eugenio M. Caccam, Jr., and Mr. Joselito A. Lavarias in appreciation of their dedicated service.

The event also celebrated excellence in tuberculosis control through the TB Active Case Finding (ACF) Awards, recognizing outstanding Regional Offices, Provincial Health Offices, and Municipal and City Local Government Units with Flexible Programmatic Support Packages to further strengthen their TB initiatives.

Reflecting CFI’s commitment to meaningful and community-centered partnerships, guests received fresh fruits and vegetables as tokens of appreciation, sourced through Rural Rising Philippines. More than a unique giveaway, the initiative supported the livelihoods of Filipino farmers while showcasing how even simple gestures can create positive social impact.

In his message of gratitude, Executive Director Eugenio M. Caccam, Jr. thanked CFI’s partners, trustees, staff, and supporters for their trust and collaboration throughout the past five decades.

As CFI celebrates its Golden Anniversary, it looks ahead with renewed purpose—strengthening partnerships, empowering communities, and creating lasting impact for generations to come.
