Sariaya, one of the most populated municipalities in Quezon Province, relies heavily on accessible healthcare, making proactive disease detection like tuberculosis screening essential.
Recognizing the Rural Health Unit as a key access point, Culion Foundation, Inc. conducted Active Case Finding at the facility. About 454 patients were screened, identifying 50 presumptive TB cases. Integrating screening into routine consultations ensured potential cases were promptly referred for further evaluation.
This success was made possible through the support of the Department of Health – Center for Health Development, Quezon Provincial Health Office, Sariaya Rural Health Unit, the Local Government Unit of Sariaya, and the Philippine Business for Social Progress.
