Together with representatives from Fundaciรณn Vicente Ferrer, CFI visited the Rural Health Units (RHUs) and nearby communities of Rodriguez, Rizal, including house visits with tuberculosis (TB) patients. The visit assessed the implementation of TB services, examining diagnostic capacity, patient flow, reporting systems, and the realities faced by those in upland and hard-to-reach areas.
As part of the engagement, we paid a courtesy call and met with the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and health workers of Rodriguez, Rizal, to discuss strengthening local support for TB programs and explore opportunities for collaboration to improve access to care for vulnerable communities.
Through key informant interviews with patients and meaningful dialogue with health officials and community members, the visit highlighted both progress and priority areas for support. The area also presents strong potential for complementary interventions in WASH, sanitation, and livelihood, reinforcing that ending TB requires a holistic, community-centered approach.
