As part of its mandate to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) services in high-burden areas, CFI sat down with the NTP (National Tuberculosis Program) Nurse Coordinator of the Provincial Health Office of Masbate, Ms. Rovel Tamayo, for an in-depth discussion on the province’s TB situation, covering challenges, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
The Province of Masbate in the Bicol Region, where access to health services can be limited by geography and resources, face unique hurdles in TB case detection and treatment initiation and completion.
This meeting is a critical step in building a grounded, community-responsive approach, ensuring that CFI’s interventions are informed by the real, on-the-ground realities faced by local health workers and the communities they serve.
