Reaching the Heart of Batangas Agricultural Communities

Amid the rice fields, poultry farms, and rolling hills of Taysan, San Jose, and Rosario, Batangas, the CFI ACF Team 4A extended free TB screening, such as free mobile chest x-ray, to farming households and rural communities on a mission to bring healthcare closer to where people live and work.
These municipalities, known for their thriving agricultural economy, livestock production, and tight-knit rural populations, were strategically prioritized to improve early TB detection among residents who may have limited access to routine health services.
A total of 445 participants were screened across the three municipalities—underscoring the importance of bringing healthcare services directly to underserved farming populations.
This initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of CHD CALABARZON, the Batangas Provincial Health Office, PDOHO, the Local Government Units and Barangay Health Centers, and PBSP, whose collaboration ensured smooth coordination and strong community turnout.
By embedding health interventions into agricultural communities, we take a vital step toward a TB-free Batangas.
