Inclusion of TST in ACF: Strengthening Community-Based TB Detection

In its ongoing effort to enhance the early detection of tuberculosis (TB), the Culion Foundation, Inc. has expanded its Active Case Finding (ACF) activities to include the Tuberculin Skin Test (TST). This trusted diagnostic method further strengthens its reach in the community.
The addition of TST provides another reliable avenue to identify individuals who may have a latent TB infection, especially among close contacts of confirmed TB patients. By incorporating this method into our ACF activities, we are able to broaden our screening capacity, prioritize high-risk populations, and intervene earlier, preventing the progression of TB into its active and infectious stage.
