In collaboration with El Nido Foundation (ENF), the Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) Environmental team, alongside environmental consultant Mr. Godof Villapando, conducted ocular visits to key ecological sites in the Municipality of El Nido such as mangrove management areas, organic farms, watershed, and marine protected zones currently or previously managed by the El Nido Foundation. These site assessments provided both teams a firsthand understanding of the conservation needs and challenges facing these critical ecosystems.
In addition to field visits, the teams conducted key informant interviews with local stakeholders. The discussions aimed to identify gaps in existing conservation initiatives and explore best practices to inform future projects. The collaboration reflects CFI and ENF’s commitment to sustainable environmental management, with plans to apply their findings toward more impactful initiatives in El Nido.
