In an effort to raise awareness and equip participants with essential knowledge about tuberculosis (TB), Dr. John Jefferson Besa, Project Lead of the TB in the Workplace Project. conducted an engaging lecture on the Basics of TB. The informative session was organized on February 27, 2023, at the DPS District IV Conference Hall and saw the active participation of 38 individuals from the Department of Public Services (DPS).
The event commenced with Dr. Besa’s comprehensive lecture, wherein he shed light on the fundamentals of TB, its transmission, symptoms, and treatment options. Following the presentation, participants enthusiastically engaged in a question and answer session, seeking clarifications on the information presented and openly sharing their personal experiences with TB.
To further enhance participants’ understanding and practical application of the knowledge acquired, a return demonstration was conducted. Selected representatives from each district skillfully demonstrated their comprehension of the subject matter using either the provided PowerPoint presentation or by opting for interactive discussions utilizing the brochures distributed during the session.
CFI commitment to educating and empowering its engaged cluster groups in the fight against TB was evident throughout the engaging lecture. By fostering open discussions and interactive demonstrations, the event played a crucial role in strengthening the collective efforts to combat TB within the DPS community. The session undoubtedly served as a vital step towards building a more informed and prepared frontline in the battle against this infectious disease.
