One Health, One Future
Connecting health across humans, animals,
and the environment
About us
50 years of transforming hope into action
Since 1976, Culion Foundation, Inc. has stood alongside Filipino communities in their journey toward better health, thriving environments, and sustainable development.
Our story began on Culion Island, where we transformed an “Island of Living Dead” into an “Island of Hope”. Through compassionate leprosy care that combined medical treatment, social support, and livelihood development, we didn’t just heal disease — we restored dignity and reunited families.
After the Philippines eliminated leprosy as a public health problem in 1998, we expanded nationwide, implementing over 40 projects across 10 regions — from disease prevention and maternal health to environmental conservation and sustainable community development.
We believe lasting change happens when communities lead their own transformation. Through strategic partnerships with governments, civil society, private sector, academe, and developmental partners, we create sustainable, community-centered solutions.
Join us in building healthier communities, protecting our environment, and creating sustainable futures for all Filipinos. Together, hope becomes action.
