CFI and BAFFA conducted a Fisherfolk and Farmers’ Meeting at Sitio Ugnisan, Brgy. Luac, Culion.
CFI partnered with the Baldat Fishermen and Farmers Association (BAFFA) to form a labor group organization in Sitio Ugnisan. With the assistance of Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) Luac, Sitio Ugnisan has now its newly established Peopleโs Organization (PO), called the Ugnisan Fisherfolk and Farmer’s Association (UFFA), which will be CFI’s partner PO for the implementation of community-based mangrove rehabilitation initiatives.
Moreover, CFI opened an access route from Poblacion via the Bayanihan System and assisted Ugnisan communities in marketing their agricultural products.
According to Sitio Ugnisan residents, CFI has been supporting the community for decades, since the organization’s establishment under Father Javier Olazabal.
