Reflecting on Culion’s transformation from the “Island of the Living Dead” to the “Island of Hope,” CFI President 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗙. 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗼 shared that the Foundation’s greatest achievement is not measured solely by its programs, but by the lives it has touched, the communities it has empowered, and the partnerships it has nurtured over the past five decades.
She noted that it was only fitting for CFI’s Golden Anniversary to be celebrated in Culion, where the Foundation’s story began and where it learned that lasting change is built through trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to serving communities.
As CFI looks to the future, her message is both a celebration and a call to continue the mission. “𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗙𝗜.” Those three words remind us that CFI’s legacy belongs to everyone—staff, partners, volunteers, and communities—who have journeyed together in transforming lives.
