CFI Holds Stakeholders’ Meeting for KABAYAN Project in Culion

On December 2, 2025, the Culion Foundation Inc. (CFI) convened a multi-sectoral stakeholders’ meeting in Culion, Palawan, under the KABAYAN Project (Kalipunan ng mga Babae para sa Natural na Yaman ng Baldat), funded by the Canadian Embassy through the Philippines-Canada Partnership on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Climate Adaptation (PCP4NBS) and implemented by the Forest Foundation Philippines. The meeting aimed to provide a shared understanding of the project, align planned activities, and secure strong stakeholder commitment. Participants included representatives from the Culion LGU, Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Environment and Agriculture, CENRO, PCSDS, Barangay Baldat, the Calamianes Resilience Network, partner people’s organizations, and several municipal offices, as well as Western Philippines University–Culion Campus.
Discussions emphasized the crucial role of women in natural resource management, community resilience, and climate adaptation. Stakeholders clarified project components, timelines, and collaborative responsibilities, fostering open dialogue and strengthened coordination across sectors. The engagement reinforced partnerships and set a solid foundation for collective action, with stakeholders expressing their continued commitment to advancing environmental protection, women’s empowerment, and climate resilience in Barangay Baldat and the wider Culion community.
